PurposeFULL People
|
PurposeFULL People is the character education program that Katy ISD has adopted for elementary students. The curriculum focuses on fostering the whole child through social-emotional learning and character development.
Each month, the program highlights an important character trait students need to be successful and includes social-emotional lessons and activities that correspond with that trait. The PurposeFULL People curriculum will be incorporated into counselor-led guidance lessons and integrated into weekly classroom instruction with the homeroom teacher. Additionally, throughout the year, teachers can nominate students who are seen demonstrating any of the PurposeFULL People character traits for an award. When nominated, the student will be featured on the morning announcements, receive a personalized certificate, and get to take home a "Super Creech Comet" yard sign. They get to keep the yard sign for the duration of that 9-week grading period. |

PALS |
PALs stands for Peer Assistance and Leadership. This program is a peer assistance program offering selected high school students the opportunity to work as trained peer facilitators with students on our campus. During each weekly visit, our students will have the opportunity to play games and build a relationship with their PAL mentor.

KEYS Mentoring Program |
KEYS stands for "Keep Encouraging Youth Towards Success." The KEYS Mentoring Program matches a caring adult (i.e.- teacher, coach, community member, etc.) with a student on the brink of success. The student and their mentor meet weekly for 30-45 minutes on campus throughout the duration of the school year. The primary focus of this program is to build a strong relationship between the mentor and the mentee rather than tutoring, although it has been found that increased student academic success often occurs.

PBIS |
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention Support. It is a program that is in place to aid teachers and administrators to create a environment where students are safe, happy, and able to learn to the best of their ability. PBIS is a decision making framework that guides selection, integration, and implementation of the best evidence-based academic and behavioral practices for improving important academic and behavior outcomes for all students. We will continue to implement the PBIS Rewards system this school year, as well as our House System.
